Roshenna Carpenter, Youth Intern CoordinatorRoshenna leads the youth intern program spending time with 12 interns each week. She grew up in Oakland, ran track, and loves to cook. She is a re-entry student attending local community college working toward a degree in criminal justice. She loves spending time with her daughter.

Cirilo Hardin, Program ManagerCirilo is a Program Manager for Trybe coaching Trybe's elementary and middle school sports. An avid basketball player, Cirilo grew up in Oakland and attended Roosevelt Middle, and Oakland High schools. He played on Trybe's middle and high school teams with his older brother coaching. A father, Cirilo is looking to pursue his education, basketball career and coaching.

Karen Heida, Associate DirectorKaren serves as Trybe's Associate Director. She oversees Trybe's early childhood, education, literacy, youth, and family programs. A mother of six, legally blind, Karen has spent her entire adult life supporting children and families.
Karen's passion is to help young parents and families through the difficult years of transition. Karen has her B.A. in History from U.C.Berkeley. |
Lisa Lamberan, Organizer/Parent-LeaderLisa is an Oakland native, graduate of Dewey High School, mother of 3 and lead organizer at Bella Vista. With deep San Antonio roots with family all over the neighborhood, Lisa works in retail, drives her children everywhere in Oakland and still finds time to put in work with her community.

Andrew Park, Executive DirectorAndrew arrived in Oakland Chinatown in 1979 and quickly moved to and grew up East Oakland. A graduate of Skyline High and UC Davis, along with a doctoral degree in transformational leadership from the Berkeley Graduate Theological Union, Andrew has over 20 years experience working with families and youth. A father of four, Andrew founded Trybe in 2008 and works tirelessly to better the community he grew up in. Andrew ran for Oakland City Council in 2014 and received 25% of the vote.

Brian Saelee, Program AssistantBrian grew up with Trybe since middle school, graduating from Skyline High, working as a Trybe intern, and playing on the youth basketball teams. Brian is pursuing child development and is on staff with the Oakland Unified School District.
Shauntae is a parent-leader with Trybe focusing on the Bella Vista area and youth. She has lived in Oakland all of her life with strong family ties in the Bella Vista area. She is familiar with many of Oakland's long time youth programs having been a part of Youth Uprising and Project Reconnect. Shauntae is pursuing a career in public safety while she raises her family and organizes parents. She is a founding board member for the Bella Vista Community Fund.

Carlisha Venson Organizer/Parent-LeaderA Vegas and Oakland native, Carlisha is a parent-leader with the San Antonio Family Resource Center (FRC). Carlisha mainly organizes around the Bella Vista and Franklin areas, focusing on the CDC and Head start programs. She loves to cook, judge food, travel, and plan events.

Dennis HeidaDr. Rev. Dennis Heida is an ordained minister who has started and pastored ministries in Chico, CA, Seattle, WA, San Francisco, CA specializing in revitalizing congregations to be more outreach orientated. He is the lead pastor at Berkeley Tribe Church and long time resident of Oakland.

Sonia GonzalezSonia Gonzalez is a native of Salinas and holds a business degree from UC Berkeley. Coming from a family farm, she grew up selling bags of produce door to door. She is the general manager for a mobile app company and has been involved with three start-ups. She and 3 her sisters (all of whom are first generation college graduates and all work in tech) are involved in service, working with start-ups and non-profits to help Central Valley farmers, entrepreneurs, and especially youth and women of color, to forge pathways in tech.

Alexandra Bareño ParkAlexandra is an environmental engineer with HydroScience. With a master's degree from UC Berkeley, Alexandra's passion is to see young women of color enter science and engineering fields. Alex was a founding design team member of Oakland School of Language, the first Oakland public school to open in a decade.
