$14,000+! With $7200 from FB donations $6800 off FB, we can now help 48 Oakland families who are hard hit by the CV-19 pandemic. We started with the goal of 10 families and $3000, and in 10 days, our community has more than quadrupled that amount! Special thanks to the Hella Heart Oakland Giving Circle, APALA-Alameda Chapter, the Mao-Kim Family Fund, Byung Kyu Park, and the Spiker Family (who started this all with a simple and sweet email), for underwriting 3 to 10 families each. What is amazing is our 68 donors who gave an average gift of under $91, half in the $30 range, which speaks to your heart. We are blown away! We, together, are helping 48 Families! 48 FAMILIES and counting. Again, we have applied to grants to support up to 200 families with financial assistance and food/supplies. If you know of a family in need, please have them email email@example.com.
We are working through existing networks in Oakland schools, parent/community leaders, and our food distribution lists to identify families who are most in need of this immediate CV-19 assistance. Special thanks to the Food Bank, Alameda County for supplying 5000 lbs of food for us weekly to distribute to the community. As they are blessed, so are we!
We just broke $10,000! With the $6352 from FB and $3750 from non-FB donations, we can now help 33 families. We are blown away and encouraged to do more! So today, we made a budget for what it would cost to support 200 families and came to a figure of $68,500 ($60K in cash grants, $8500 in restaurant/grocery gift cards). Then we applied for a $25,000 grant and are sending letters to foundations and philanthropists. 100% of donated funds will go out into the community to households who need the help. If you are a family or know of a family in need, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Original Story: All of us are going through an unprecedented time of change, closures, and distancing. We are organizing a small fundraiser to help 10 Oakland families who are on the margin, who have hourly jobs they have to go to, who don't have enough money to cover costs such as a babysitter while kids out of school, for food (food bank supplies are down so Trybe can do limited runs and distributions), educational materials (libraries closed and online content difficult to access), and just having that extra little cash to get us through while we are stuck at home (treats, movie rentals, board games, etc.). The goal is to raise $3000 to help 10 families with an extra $300 for the rest of this month. Any extra funds raised will go to help additional families. Trybe is also accepting in-kind donations of:
-Arts/Crafts, school supplies
-Gas cards, gift cards
-Anything else families can use at home
We are using the FB fundraising platform because there are no fees. We receive 100% of the funds to give out to families!

Coaching: help coach basketball, cheerleading, dance, fitness and martial arts. Female coaches are needed.
